Pastor as Person Seeking to Be (W)Holy

In the diagram below, Gary Haubaugh illustrates his model for "maintaining personal intergrity in the choices and challenges of ministry."

Gary Harbaugh Schema

Does this model bring to mind Jesus' teaching about the Greatest Commandment:

The first is, 'Hear, O Israel: the Lord our God, the Lord is one; you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your sould, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.' The second is this, 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no other commandment greater than these. (Jesus quoting Deuteronomy 6:4 - 9 and Leviticus 19:18 as found in Mark 12:29 - 31)

One of the earliest names those of faith used for God was "El." Harbaugh's model argues that we grow as disciples as we grow in all four of these directions.

Note that Jesus also included the integrity - the oneness (w)holeness of God - "the Lord is One."
